Engineering College, Ajmer in Rajasthan completed an EV lab in February 2026 with Epiroc as implementation partner, giving students practical training in electric vehicle systems.
The facility covers EV systems, vehicle diagnostics, battery technology, powertrain systems and emerging electric mobility solutions, with an emphasis on practical, industry-oriented training.
Students practise EV diagnostics, battery testing and powertrain fault-finding in the lab. This hands-on work prepares them for roles in EV service, battery technology and electric mobility engineering.
Diagnostics and battery technology go together in practice: many EV faults first appear as a battery or charging warning, and tracing them back to a cell, connection or controller takes both system knowledge and a methodical test sequence. Powertrain work then shows how the motor and controller convert battery energy into drive.
With Rajasthan's growing focus on renewable energy and electric mobility, engineering graduates in Ajmer who understand battery and powertrain systems are well placed for work with vehicle makers, charging operators and service networks. The initiative also aims to encourage innovation among students in the electric mobility field.
