Manav Rachna University in Faridabad, Haryana took delivery of a focused EV lab in December 2025, set up for training in EV wiring, fault tracing and diagnostics.

The setup comprises a 2-wheeler simulator with complete drivetrain functionality, a smart LFP battery with BMS, a wire-harness training unit, a DC-DC converter module, a PMSM motor cut-section model and diagnostic tools.

LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry is widely used in electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers for its thermal stability and long cycle life, so the smart LFP battery gives students hands-on time with a pack type common in Indian EVs.

Students trace wiring faults on the wire-harness unit, study LFP battery behaviour through the BMS, follow power conversion on the DC-DC converter and examine PMSM motor construction on the cut-section, before diagnosing faults on the running 2-wheeler simulator. These skills support roles such as EV service engineer, EV testing engineer and battery systems engineer.

Faridabad sits within the National Capital Region's automotive and component manufacturing belt, and a compact, diagnostics-focused facility gives engineering students there the wiring and fault-tracing skills that component suppliers and service networks look for as they move to electric models.
