Learning Hub, an industry training centre in Kolkata, West Bengal, completed an automotive and EV lab in May 2025 that covers core vehicle systems in both conventional and electric vehicles.
The lab includes steering and suspension training assemblies, HVAC demo kits, electronic ignition trainers, starter system instruction kits and EV charging system training modules. Each unit isolates one system, so a learner can study linkages, circuits or airflow without a full vehicle in the way.
Learners work through steering and suspension layouts on the assemblies, test ignition and starter circuits, study HVAC system operation on the demo kits and practise EV charging procedures on the charging modules. This combination suits roles such as automotive service technician, auto electrician and EV service technician.
The ignition and starter trainers build the electrical diagnosis habits every vehicle electrician relies on: checking supply, switching and earth in sequence until the fault shows itself. The same discipline carries straight over to EV charging faults.
Workshops across Kolkata still service petrol and diesel vehicles every day while electric three-wheelers and two-wheelers keep growing in number on West Bengal's roads. Learners who can move between both kinds of vehicle are useful to a garage from their first week.
