In September 2026, Balasore School of Engineering in Balasore, Odisha completed a new EV lab, giving students at the engineering school hands-on exposure to modern electric vehicle technology.
The lab is industry-focused, built so that students learn on EV hardware rather than from diagrams alone. Practical work on an electric vehicle centres on the battery, the motor and controller that turn stored energy into drive, and the charging system that refills the pack.
Along with the lab setup, EV training programmes were conducted for both students and faculty to strengthen practical skills, technical knowledge and industry readiness in electric mobility. Training faculty alongside students means the lab can be built into regular teaching rather than used only for occasional demonstrations.
For engineering students in coastal Odisha, hands-on EV knowledge opens routes into vehicle service, battery testing and charging infrastructure work as electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers spread across the state's towns.
