An Electric Vehicle lab is now operational at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, Maharashtra. The EV lab setup gives engineering students hands-on training across the full electric vehicle system and was completed in [Month 2026].
Students train on a battery management system (BMS) trainer, an EV powertrain and motor test bench, a lithium-ion battery testing station, an AC/DC charging station trainer, a vehicle electrical systems kit and an EV simulator. Together, this equipment covers the vehicle from battery pack to charger.
The lab was set up under an MoU between YCCE and SkyySkill Labs / through direct purchase by the institution. Students are enrolled in the first batch, and faculty members were trained during commissioning.
Trainees configure and test battery management systems, measure battery pack performance, study motor and controller behaviour, and commission EV chargers. These are the hands-on tasks behind EV design, testing and service roles.
Beyond scheduled training, the lab gives YCCE faculty and students a platform for final-year projects and applied research in electric mobility. This makes it a reference EV training facility for engineering students across the Vidarbha region.
