Launched in April 2026 in collaboration with Edunet Foundation, the EV lab at Govt ITI Pusa in New Delhi gives trainees a practical space for electric mobility training.
The lab is fully equipped for hands-on work, with the emphasis on practical learning and real-world applications rather than classroom theory. Its aim is to close the gap between technical education and what employers in the EV sector expect a new technician to be able to do on the first day.
Electric mobility training at ITI level centres on the systems a technician handles most: the battery pack and its management, the motor and controller, charging equipment, and the safety steps needed before working on any high-voltage circuit.
Delhi's roads carry many electric autos, e-rickshaws, scooters and buses, all of which need regular servicing. For trainees at a government ITI in the capital, the lab opens routes into sustainable transportation as EV service technicians, charging point technicians and fleet maintenance staff.
