Govt. ITI RCPuram in RC Puram, Hyderabad, Telangana completed an EV lab in January 2025 for hands-on electric vehicle training of its trainees and faculty.
Training covers EV technology, battery systems, electric powertrains, charging systems and diagnostics. Hands-on sessions for trainees and faculty have been running since installation, so instructors and trainees build practical experience on the same systems.
Trainees practise battery system checks, powertrain operation, charging procedures and fault diagnosis, preparing them for roles such as EV service technician and battery technician. A battery check teaches them to read pack voltage and look for imbalance or loose connections; powertrain operation shows how the controller responds to throttle input; and charging practice covers safe connection and monitoring.
RC Puram is part of Hyderabad's industrial belt, and Telangana's vehicle dealerships, fleet operators and component makers increasingly need technicians who can handle electric vehicles as confidently as conventional ones. EV training at a government ITI gives trainees from the area a direct path into that work.
