EV Lab Setup at Government Polytechnic, Balasore

Balasore, OdishaCompleted EV Lab
EV lab installed at Government Polytechnic, Balasore, Odisha

An EV lab completed in November 2024 at Government Polytechnic (GP), Balasore in Odisha supports hands-on electric vehicle training for the polytechnic's diploma students and faculty.

Training in the lab covers EV technology, battery systems, electric powertrains, charging systems and diagnostics. Together these follow the full energy path of an electric vehicle, from the stored charge in the battery, through the powertrain that turns it into motion, to the charger that replenishes it.

Since installation, hands-on training sessions have been running for both students and faculty. Training lecturers alongside students keeps the lab in regular use and builds teaching capacity inside the polytechnic.

Students work through battery system checks, powertrain operation, charging procedures and diagnostic routines, which prepares them for roles such as EV service technician and battery technician. Diagnostics ties the topics together: a diploma holder who can follow a fault from warning light to root cause is useful in any EV workshop, whether the vehicle is a scooter, an e-rickshaw or a car.
