Following the installation of an EV lab at ITI Balasore, Odisha in December 2024, hands-on training sessions have been held for both students and faculty.
Training faculty alongside students means the institute can keep running EV sessions with its own instructors, rather than depending on outside trainers for every batch.
An MoU signed as part of the initiative supports collaboration on skill development, training and future career opportunities for the institute's students.
The training focuses on practical, industry-oriented skills in EV technologies, the kind of work done every day in electric vehicle service: understanding how the battery, motor and controller interact, following safe high-voltage practice, and tracing faults methodically. These skills lead towards roles such as EV service technician and EV maintenance technician in dealerships and service workshops.
Training sessions for students and faculty are continuing under the MoU, giving Balasore an ongoing route into electric mobility skills for trainees from coastal Odisha.
