In June 2025, an EV two-wheeler training lab was completed for Sri Sri Rural Development Trust in Karnataka, bringing electric two-wheeler training to the trust's rural skilling work.

The core unit is a 2-Wheeler Drivetrain Training Bench with an outrunner BLDC motor, IoT-enabled RFID security, password-protected drive control and smart fault-detection features. It is supported by spare parts, toolkits, a service ramp and instructional wallcharts for workshop practice.

Learners carry out complete drivetrain and wiring analysis on the bench, troubleshoot components using the fault-detection features, and practise EV assembly, diagnostics and maintenance using the spare parts, toolkits and service ramp. The bench also supports embedded and IoT project integration. These skills fit roles such as EV two-wheeler service technician and EV assembly technician.

The RFID security and password-protected drive control reflect the access and anti-theft features on current electric scooters, so learners see how such systems are wired into the vehicle rather than treating them as a black box. The service ramp lets them work on a vehicle at working height, as they would in a workshop.

Electric scooters are increasingly used for local travel and small deliveries in rural Karnataka, and owners need a trained mechanic nearby when something fails. Skills learned on this bench translate directly into that kind of village and small-town service work.
