In association with TNS Foundation, Government ITI Belagavi in Karnataka completed an EV and solar lab in March 2026, with hands-on training modules for trainees in electric vehicles and solar energy systems.
The lab pairs EV training modules with solar energy modules in one workshop. The two fields share more than it first appears: both depend on battery storage, power electronics and safe handling of DC circuits, so skills learnt on one side carry over to the other.
Trainees work through practical exercises on both sets of modules, gaining exposure aligned with current industry practice. This prepares them for roles such as EV service technician and solar PV installer, two trades that are growing as more vehicles and rooftops in Karnataka go electric and solar.
For a government ITI in Belagavi, the partnership with TNS Foundation brings these modules within reach of trainees who would otherwise learn the technology only from textbooks.
