Government ITI Hubballi in Karnataka now hosts an EV and solar centre of excellence, with labs completed in September 2026 in association with TNS Foundation for hands-on trainee training in electric mobility and solar energy.
Training in the labs covers EV motors, battery systems, controllers, charging technology, solar PV systems and inverters. The controller is the link trainees learn to respect on the EV side, since it decides how much battery power reaches the motor; on the solar side, the inverter plays a similar role in turning panel output into usable AC supply.
Trainees work on EV motors, controllers and battery systems, practise charging procedures, and connect solar PV systems to inverters. These tasks prepare them for roles in electric mobility, solar energy and green technology, such as EV technician and solar PV installer.
As a centre of excellence in Hubballi, the facility gives north Karnataka's ITI trainees access to EV and solar training close to home, without moving to Bengaluru to find it.
