ITI Aundh in Pune, Maharashtra completed an integrated EV and solar lab in November 2025, bringing electric mobility and renewable energy systems training together in one space.
The EV section has transmission and drivetrain training rigs, 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler EV simulators, and a 3-wheeler electric loader platform. Battery manufacturing kits with BMS, battery testing equipment and charging systems support battery work. Cut-section models cover a BLDC motor, hub motor, controller, differential, charger, DC-DC converter and instrumentation cluster.
The cut-sections show what is normally sealed: the windings and magnets of a BLDC motor, a hub motor built into the wheel, and the DC-DC converter that steps traction battery voltage down for lights and the instrument cluster. The 3-wheeler loader platform then puts those parts into the context of a working commercial vehicle.
Trainees assemble battery packs with BMS, test batteries, and use the cut-sections to see the internal structure of motors, controllers and converters before working on the simulators and the loader platform. This supports roles such as EV service technician, battery assembly technician and charging station technician.
With Pune home to a large cluster of vehicle makers and component suppliers, the drivetrain, battery and charging skills built at Aundh match work that local employers already do.
