Renewable energy training at Government ITI Tumkur in Karnataka gained industry-aligned infrastructure in April 2026 with the completion of a green skill lab for trainees.
The lab is designed for hands-on learning, giving trainees practical time with renewable energy systems instead of studying them only in the classroom.
It was installed in collaboration with SRF Foundation, reflecting a shared view of skilling as a long-term investment rather than an afterthought.
Trainees build practical renewable energy skills on the lab equipment: understanding how solar energy is converted to electricity, how a system is wired safely and how its performance is checked. This prepares them for entry roles in the renewable energy sector, such as solar PV installation technician and renewable energy maintenance technician.
For trainees in Tumkur, the lab connects ITI training with the growing renewable energy sector in Karnataka.
